Background and Objectives
Processworks Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) course provides in-depth training to the professionals aspiring to be CAPM certified. The course walks the attendee through PMBOK® Guide’s Seventh Edition which has been released in 2021 and on additional topics related to project management that would be part of the examination curriculum.
This CAPM® certification is meant for those who:
- Seek an entry level certification on Project Management.
- Would not qualify for the PMP exam taking pre-requisites.
- Aspire to attain PMP certification later.
The CAPM and the PMP qualifications are based on the same syllabus, which is the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK). Hence, the knowledge base for both the credentials is the same. However, the CAPM® certification exam is structured as an entry level exam for Project professionals.
What is Project Management Institute (PMI®)?
PMI® is the world’s leading not-for-profit membership association for the project management profession, with more than half a million members and credential holders in 185 countries. More information on PMI® can be viewed at www.pmi.org
Why Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM®)?
Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM®) is an excellent first step certification for project professionals.
The CAPM® credential demonstrates an understanding of the fundamental concepts, knowledge, terminology and processes of effective project management based on the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK®).
A CAPM® would be able to integrate and be part of project teams that follow the PMBOK® as the Project Management methodology.

Exam Pattern
The CAPM examination is comprised of 150 multiple-choice questions, drag-and-drop-style questions, and animations/comic strips. You may also see hot spot questions. Of the 150 questions, 15 are considered pretest questions. Pretest questions do not affect the score and are used in examinations as an effective and legitimate way to test the validity of future examination questions. All questions are placed randomly throughout the examination.
For the CAPM exam, there is now a 10-minute break in the exam. The break will appear after completion of questions 1–75 and after you have reviewed all your answers. Please note, once you review your responses and start your break, you will not be able to return to the questions from the previous exam section.
