Introduction

As the world becomes more complex and our work increasingly interdependent, solving problems and making decisions is more challenging than ever before. Problem solving and decision making are critical skills for working professionals, yet most people learn these skills through trial and error and receive minimal formal training in these disciplines.

Cognitive science has made great strides during the past two decades towards better understanding of how humans solve problems and make decisions. Using a structured approach to problem solving enables you to assess problems accurately, broaden your range of creative solutions, evaluate alternative and help you make quality decisions. This would make you more comfortable in dealing with uncertainty and ambiguity and help you gain confidence.

Course Objective

To provide learners with analytical tools for problem identification and definition, evaluation of possible solutions and solution selection.

The course provides the attendees the knowledge and skills to solve problems and make effective decisions. This includes various brainstorming techniques for developing ideas; general decision-making techniques; processes and methods for critically analyzing data so that participants can bring increased value to their organizations and customers. The course introduces elements of lateral thinking that is so necessary to solve today’s complex issues.

Course Methodology
