Course Overview
Processworks PBA (professional in Business Analysis) Training course provides an overview to the PMI’s guide to Business Analysis and additional topics related to Business Analysis that are typically part of the examination curriculum.
Course lectures are supplemented with hand-outs and additional information for self-study, study tips, list of relevant books etc.
Course Objective
After the completion of the course, the participants would be able to:
- Understand business analysis, value of business analysis and common vocabulary.
- Understand relationship between products and projects, products and project Life cycles, and how business analysis supports portfolio, program and project management
- Understand the role of the business analyst.
- Understand the six process groups, six knowledge areas and thirty-five processes of business analysis and their mappings as described in the PMIs Guide to Business Analysis.
- Learn about the key business analysis processes of Needs Assessment, Stakeholder Engagement, Elicitation, Analysis, Traceability and Monitoring and Solution Evaluation.
- Understand the code of ethics for Business Analysts and its application to business analysis.
- Understand the PBA certification process.
- Fulfil the eligibility criteria to take the PBA certification exam.
Delivery Method
The course is instructor led designed to have participants learn, apply, experiment and implement the Business Analysis concepts and techniques based on PMIs Guide to Business Analysis.
The course facilitation process is to cover one or set of topics and have tests, quizzes and or scenarios for those topics to facilitate coverage recall and test preparedness.

Eligibility Requirements to take the PMI PBA Exam
A candidate must either attain:
60 months of Business Analysis experience + 35 contact hours of Business Analysis Education for a Diploma or High School qualification holder
or
36 months of Business Analysis experience + 35 contact hours of Business Analysis Education for a bachelor’s degree holder
All experience must have been accumulated within the last 8 consecutive years.
Training and Exam Duration
Training: 5 days
The course deliverables shall be issued on the first day of the course during registration.
Exam: 240 minutes (4 hours) duration
Exam Pattern
The PBA exam is a computer-based exam consisting of 175 multiple choice questions. The exam is a closed-book test
