Overview

The ISEBs Intermediate Certificate in Software Testing is the second level of competency after the foundation level.

 

This certification provides evidence that the candidate has proven analytical ability, having gained knowledge and practical skills in the key topics required for practicing software testing.

 

The topics covered in the ISEB Intermediate Certificate in Software Testing are those which are considered to be essential knowledge for an advanced level test professional, (i.e. Test Analysis or Test Management).

 

Candidates are eligible to progress to the next level Practitioner examinations (i.e.Test Management and/or Test Analysis) on successful passing of this certificate.

 

  
Objective

After taking the course you will:

  • be able to recall the main principles and themes from the Foundation syllabus
  • describe and analyse Application Domains and Life Cycles and their risks and challenges analyse scenarios to identify specific technical challenges, such as test environments and test design techniques
  • analyse scenarios to identify specific management challenges, such as risk, estimation and entry and exit criteria
  • understand where to apply technical and management techniques appropriately
  • be familiar with examination questions and how to address them
  • to provide a basis for those wishing to progress to the ISEB Software Testing Practitioner level in either or both Test Management and/or Test Analysis.

 

  
Prerequisites

Candidates must already hold the ISTQB CTFL or ISEB Foundation Certificate in Software Testing  and have at least 18 months experience in software testing.

Training and Exam

Training: 3 days 

The course material shall be issued on the first day of the course during registration.

 

Exam:

The examination is a one hour closed book examination (no materials can be taken into the examination room) and will consist of 25 scenario-based multiple choice questions. The pass mark is 15/25.

 

The exam shall be scheduled at a Prometric Centre close to your location (www.prometric.com).

 

  
Result and Certificate

Results are announced within 2-3 weeks from the date of examination & those who clear the exam receive certificate from BCS as a governing body with ISEB seal.

Certificates are dispatched directly by BCS, UK at the address mentioned in the registration form filled on the exam date. Participants receive certificate within 3-4 weeks from the date of examination.
