Certification Overview

The Certified Software Tester (CSTE) certification is a popular and a globally recognized credential for the Software Testing professional. The certification is administered by Software Certifications (www.softwarecertifications.org), USA which is the professional certification arm of QAI global institute, USA  (www.qaiglobalinstitute.com). Acquiring the designation of Certified Software Tester (CSTE) indicates a professional level of competence in the principles and practices of software testing in the IT profession.
 
The Certified Software Tester (CSTE) certification is intended to establish standards for initial qualification and provide direction for the testing function through an aggressive educational program.
 
CSTEs become members of a recognized professional group and receive recognition of their competence by business and professional associates, potentially more rapid career advancement, and greater acceptance in the role as advisor to management.

 

  
Certification Exam

The certification is achieved through a four hour exam made up for four sections; two parts multiple choice and two parts essay and short answer.
 
The two multiple choice parts are required to be completed in 45 minutes and the two essay and short answer parts are required to be completed in one hour and fifteen minutes each. There is a ten minute break between each session.
 
The passing mark is 75% in each of the four papers.
 
The exam shall be scheduled at a Prometric Centre close to your location (www.prometric.com).
